In 1977, three companies ONITSUKA Co, Ltd, GTO Co, Ltd and JELENK Co, Ltd merged to form ASICS Corporation, a general sporting goods company.

Since the 1980s, Asics delivered timeless sneakers with its patented GEL soles, which are still considered among the top 5 in the footwear niche.

Through countless projects in the 2010s that involved other artists, Asics made a big name for itself outside of that niche. The latest drive, however, goes back to the archives and revives futuristic-looking silhouettes in new guises. Exceptional designers like Kiko Kostadinov bring Asics to the catwalk and from there back to the streets of the big city.
